CALLING ALL CAPTAINS CHRONICLE THE CONSTANT BATTLE TO MAINTAIN POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH AND PERSPECTIVE WITH DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ‘SLOWLY GETTING BETTER’

Alberta, Canada’s Calling All Captains continue their ascent toward becoming one of the leading bands in their genre with Slowly Getting Better, due for release on October 29, 2021 via Equal Vision Records and New Damage Records.  Calling All Captains are the epitome of hard work, having played countless shows across North America, both preceding and following label support, in order to reach the heights they have arrived at.

On this debut full-length record after a number of successful EPs, Calling All Captains expertly illustrate the high-energy passion for their art that is turning heads and commanding attention each and every day.  Slowly Getting Better chronicles the constant battle to maintain positive mental health and perspective in the midst of an ever-challenging world.  The band do not shy away from these challenges, such as the death of a loved one (“Loving Cup”), fake friends (“Vacant Sentiment”) and addictions (“Wasted”) while facing them head-on with an admirable honesty.

Calling All Captains are genuine as musicians and as individuals which contributes to their broad appeal.  The fact that they are real about everything the world throws at them is abundantly evident on tracks such as “Loyalty” and “Undone,” the latter being one of a quartet of impressive pre-release singles.

The vocals of frontman Luc Gauthier and the skill of guitarists Connor Dawkins and Brad Bremner is as crisp and polished as it has ever been while the rhythm section comprised of bassist Nick Malychuk and Tim Wilson contribute to a well-rounded sound.

Calling All Captains may be unapologetically battling their demons and indeed be slowly getting better, but the progress of the band’s musicianship is moving ahead at lightning speed.
