THE HOME TEAM TACKLE MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES AND RELATIONSHIP ISSUES ON SOPHOMORE RELEASE ‘SLOW BLOOM’

Seattle natives The Home Team are set to release their sophomore album Slow Bloom on October 22, 2021 via Revival Recordings

The album took me by surprise on my first listen with smooth and powerful vocals, stunning guitar riffs, surprise trumpet and saxophone pieces and catchy beats. Slow Bloom is a beautiful creation that captures the trials and tribulations of mental health and relationships with some catchy, vibey music. If you want to dance to songs that put you in deep in your feels, this is the album for you.

The effort’s first pre-released single, “Right Through Me” starts off quietly with the lyricist talking to their potential love interest trying to solidify what’s happening between them. The song then dives right into fun guitar riffs that make you want to get on your feet and dance.

“Eat You Up” has become my new favorite comfort song. It’s the most relatable on the album for those who struggle daily with their mental health. The song talks about how people can mask their struggles in everyday life with accomplishments that make the people around them proud, but when alone the weight of their adversities come crashing down. The Home Team chime in with an upbeat sound to help the listener feel less isolated in their struggles. Through the lyrics, the band express how they don’t want the listener to be eaten up by the battles they face.  As the song progresses, the more motivational the message becomes for the listener to accept the truth they know and to not give up in these darker moments of life. It’s okay to feel the gravity of your situations, but don’t let it “eat you up.”

Slow Bloom is the perfect album for anyone to vibe to no matter what kind of mood you’re in. It can easily match any aesthetic you have an itch for, and if you like bands such as Fall Out Boy, Dance Gavin Dance and The Cab then there’s no doubt you will love The Home Team. There’s so much more to this record that you need experience for yourself. The Home Team continue to grow every day and deserve much support for the thoughts and meanings behind each of their songs.

If you’re on the west coast, don’t miss The Home Team on their album release tour starting October 20 with special guests Glacier Veins.
