SENSES FAIL EVOLVE FROM YOUTHFUL ANGST TO MATURE INTROSPECTION WITH ‘HELL IS IN YOUR HEAD’

Over 20 years after Buddy Nielsen founded Senses Fail, the band’s 8th studio album, Hell Is In Your Head, is due for release on July 15, 2022 via Pure Noise Records. Though many bandmates have come and gone over the last two decades, Nielsen remains the constant.  Many years have passed, yet Senses Fail remain engaged and their commitment to their art also remains.

While the exuberance of youthful angst may have faded, Nielsen has become more introspective in the intervening years. He reflects on human mortality on album opener “Burial of the Dead” as he sings, “We only have so much time left. You never know when you’ll take your last breath.”

This theme is evident elsewhere on the album, on tracks such as “Miles to Go,” while pre-release single “Lush Rimbaugh” is a blazing rebuke against bigotry. It may be cliche to say that Senses Fail have aged well like fine wine, but in their case it is nothing less than true.
