Over the past few years STARSET has taken us on a journey through their music and lyrics. This year’s voyage is set to ascend on October 22, 2021 with the assistance of Fearless Records. HORIZONS is the band’s fourth studio album consists of tracks pushing original and unique, new sounds.
HORIZONS houses 16 tracks including four pre-released singles “LEAVING THIS WORLD BEHIND,” “THE BREACH,” “INFECTED” and “EARTHRISE.” Out of these, the standout is “THE BREACH.” It possesses the artificial STARSET sound fused with captivating edginess. A side note: I also very much enjoy “LEAVING THIS WORLD BEHIND”.
After multiple playthroughs of HORIZONS, “THE BREACH,” “ENDLESS ENDEAVOR” and “DREAMCATCHER” stayed with me and resonated most. Each track impresses with their distinctive sound and encapsulating lyrics allowing the listener to experience various emotions throughout. “OTHERWORDLY,” “EARTHRISE” and “DISAPPEAR” are other great examples of songs pushing diverse themes and sounds.
Overall, HORIZONS is a beautifully constructed record showcasing various emotions throughout the journey. I very much believe this album will rank high on my album of the year compilation.
