Trash Boat, the pride of St. Albans, England return with their third full-length record entitled Don’t You Feel Amazing?, due for release on August 13, 2021 via Hopeless Records. The new effort represents a departure from the band’s previous material found on 2016’s Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through and 2018’s Crown Shyness.

In much the same way that fellow countrymen Boston Manor have seen their sound change and evolve over time, Trash Boat explore new sonic landscapes on Don’t You Feel Amazing?. Bursting forth with somewhat of an industrial feel, the urgency and passion that have become hallmarks of Trash Boat are found in abundance on the record. This is particularly noticeable on pre-release single “Bad Entertainment” that features Milkie Way.
While “Synthetic Sympathy“ could have found itself on a previous Trash Boat release, the highlight of the 13 track collection is undoubtedly “Love Without Needing.” While lead singer Tobi Duncan delves into the intricacies of the human existence throughout the record, it is particularly pronounced on this track.
With equal measures of vulnerability and hope, Duncan intones “I want to understand the life I’m living / what it is and what it isn’t / what to do with what I’m given / what I could have done and didn’t / I don’t trust a soul that tells me they have no regrets.”
Although it’s increasingly becoming a luxury amongst many bands within their genre, Trash Boat continue to enjoy the original membership of the band since its formation in 2014. To celebrate the release of Don’t You Feel Amazing?, Trash Boat is preparing to return to stages across the UK in October supported by Strange Bones, Calva Louise and Death Blooms.
