Las Vegas rockers Amarionette are set for the release of their new EP Evolution on August 23, 2019. The seven-song effort has no shortage of synth pop overtones which seems to be bringing fans back for more, as the band is now ranking at over 1 million streams on Spotify.
Bubbly and bouncy, the EP starts off with “Modern Disco II,” setting up the listener for a light-hearted, groovy time. “No Control” is a fairly straight forward song lyrically. The music video is strongly “behind-the-scene-centric” with lots of practice footage and live show coverage – at times the video is cute and playful.
“B-Nasty” is up next and the electric guitar effects stand out on the intro of this track, as do the vocal harmonies. “B-Nasty” will likely end up being the low-key fan favorite that the ride or die fans will be singing along to at shows.
“Nostalgic Love” brings a little bit of funk and modern pop combos along with fairly literal lyrics “Stuck in Nostalgic Love, you know I can’t get enough of you, I know you can’t get enough of me.” We hear alternative themes in “Accidental Obsession” with more focused percussion and traditional rock instrumentals.
Evolution rounds out with “Diamond Dust,” an upbeat and climactic conclusion to the EP with a stellar beat and flawlessly blended vocal melodies that leave it all on the wax with lyrics “I’m at the end, can you hear me calling, lost and alone, no one to call your own, please find me.” Evolution is catchy and likely going to be a crowd pleaser. We experience some interesting collaborations with Kurt Travis and California-based artist Andrès which infuse the EP with a crisp tone and refreshing sound.
A fun and bright EP that travels well across the genres of pop, synth and alternative rock, Evolution is available everywhere August 23rd, 2019.
