The Contortionist are set to drop new EP ‘Our Bones,” a departure from previous work

Indianapolis-based The Contortionist have been making a name for themselves since day one. Looking to expand on their previous success the band is set to release their new Ep, Our Bones, via Entertainment One on August 9, 2019. With a little help from Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me / Through The Eyes Of The Dead) with mixes/masters, Our Bones is setting the bar high for EP releases in 2019.

“With our albums, we tend to work with overarching interconnected themes. Our Bones is a departure. It offered an opportunity to dive into some things we haven’t had a chance to explore and the shorter EP format allowed us to be hyper-focused on each song.” – Michael Lessard, Vocalist

While Our Bones is only four tracks, The Contortionist send a powerful energy you are sure to remember.  The EP starts with a heavier track but slowly transitions throughout the album to end with a 1979 cover (originally by Smashing Pumpkins). After multiple listens and really focusing, I concluded that “Follow” is my favorite track. The power throughout is unexplainable and I am confident others will feel the same.

Our Bones demonstrates The Contortionist are not afraid to be different and shows how diverse they can be with songs like “All Grey” and “Early Grave.” You can preview Our Bones by listening to the pre-released single “Early Grave” and you can catch the band currently on tour with Between The Buried And Me.
