The lively pop-punk that Oakville, Ontario quintet Weigh the Anchor continue to become known for quickly kicks in on their new EP, Different Ways, due for release on April 5th, 2019. The effort is comprised of six tracks that will appeal to longstanding scene veterans and the new generation alike.

The bouncy riffs of lead single “Famous Words” and “Distance” would not be out of place alongside the early-2000s offerings of New Found Glory or The Starting Line, while the heavier tones of “Tidal Waves” evoke memories of early material from the likes of A Day To Remember.
The release will interest new fans too. There are enough “whoa-ooo-ooo-ooo-as” and energetic hooks that those who came up on bands like Knuckle Puck and Seaway will appreciate Different Ways.
In a time when there are those who contend pop punk is over-saturated, Weigh the Anchor unapologetically embrace their genre with quality musicianship and a noticeable dedication to what they do. Expertly produced by Sam Guaiana, whose credits include We Were Sharks and Like Pacific, Different Ways takes things up a notch for Weigh the Anchor.
