Sleep In. – ‘The Stars On Your Ceiling’

Not to be confused with Chicago’s Sleep On It, recent Know Hope Records signees Sleep In. from New Jersey are preparing to release their first record for the label entitled The Stars On Your Ceiling on March 22nd, 2019.

The advantage of hailing from a locale that has produced many stalwarts of their genre is evident from the first notes of the record.  Following on from some of their predecessors, Sleep In. has the talent of writing lively, poppy melodies and pairing them with somewhat paradoxical lyrics such as “Your family went bust” and “I’ve got a $100 dollar bill that says you’ll never change…the party is over and it’s all your fault” on “Honest Eyes.”

Lead single “Splitting Clouds” is a high-energy anthem while “This Old House,” that immediately follows, slows things down a bit but in no way lacks creativity.  To celebrate the release of The Stars On Your Ceiling, Sleep In. will play a string of shows with Cabana Wear across the east coast of the US before a hometown record release show alongside Dryjacket on April 19th.
