Holy Pinto – ‘Adult’

Holy Pinto is an indie pop endeavor originally from Canterbury, England, but now calls Milwaukee, Wisconsin home. After releasing their EP Congratulations in April of 2016, the band started their touring journey in the UK, Europe and the United States. Holy Pinto is the work of Aymen Saleh, with various friends contributing to live performances.

Saleh stripped the backseat of the band’s van, transforming it into a bedroom, while he toured the United States.  Despite all the struggles, Saleh decided to not give up on his dream and released an EP in the summer of 2018 titled Tales From The Traveling T-Shirt Salesman.

After visiting Milwaukee, Saleh was inspired by his love for the 90’s local emo bands, The Promise Ring and Maritime, and decided settle down there. Finding success off his single “Wisconsin,” Holy Pinto was introduced to the local music scene. Saleh was hearing his single featured on the radio station, 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, and even had a feature in the Wisconsin Gazette. He settled into his new life and started plans to release the sophomore record, Adult.

Adult focuses on love, paths chosen in life, distance and parts of the past. The album begins with “Adult #1” and ends with “Adult #2,” with a nucleus of songs in between boasting a diversity in musicianship and emotion. “Daisychain” puts this on display with a guitar solo featuring additional layers of mandolin and synth.

Catch Holy Pinto singing his songs on tour this March with special guests Retirement Party (select dates), or drinking Malört in his favorite local Milwaukee bar, Highbury Pub.
