Carried Away – ‘Start Over’

Toronto upstarts Carried Away return with their latest EP Start Over, due for release on February 22^nd, 2019. Containing five tracks bursting with a winning combination of poppy hooks courtesy of guitarists Oleksii (Alex) Koval and Daniel Alexandrov, alongside the bright vocals of lead singer Madison Crombie, Start Over is the positive result of the years the band have devoted to refining their craft.

Lyrically, as its name suggests, Start Over explores themes of overcoming challenges and beginning anew. “Keep walking, I know it’s hard to let go of all the things that made you scarred…I’m no longer holding on” sings Crombie on “July,” while “Expectations” chronicles the process of leaving a toxic relationship.

Start Over stands as yet another shining example firstly of the talent in Canada, and also of what happens when passion, musical ability and drive combine in all the best ways as the release propels Carried Away into the next era of their career.

To celebrate the release of Start Over, Carried Away will embark upon a short run of shows in the third week of February alongside fellow Canadians Ever Elsewhere. This may be the first time many have become acquainted with the music of Carried Away, but Start Over ensures that it won’t be the last.
