Ottawa, Ontario’s new three-piece rock outfit, Write Home, is set to release their debut 6-track EP titled Overgrown on October 26.
The EP starts off strong with “Sow”, establishing a connection right from the beginning. The singles they dropped in advance, “Overgrown” and “Gloss & Bloom” set the tone for the remaining tracks and they could not have chosen better singles.
“Ambrosial” is the track that caught my attention most. The song has more of a familiar vibe and the guitars just carry it to the next level. “Violet” starts off with a great instrumental section then melts into the smooth vocals of Robin Parsons which was an amazing way to start the track. The final song, “Reap”, sounds like it was destined to be the closing track as it wraps up the EP quite nicely.
