Let me just start by saying this was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. There are so many bands who deserve to be on this list, but after a lot of time I’ve narrowed it down.
10. Roam — Great Heights and Nosedives
For those of you who don’t know- ROAM is actually a really amazing band. They blew me away with their latest album. There isn’t a song on it that I don’t love.
Favorite Track:
9. Ed Sheeran — Divide
Of course Ed Sheeran made this list. He’s so amazingly talented and Divide was well worth the wait.
Favorite Track:
8. The Maine — Lovely Little Lonely
Anyone who knows me knows I am in love with The Maine. They’re one of my favorite bands- both live and digital- so of course they made this list.
Favorite Track:
7. Grayscale — Adornment
Grayscale crept up on me this year, but their new album is absolutely amazing and if you haven’t listened to them yet, you’re missing out.
Favorite Track:
6. Halsey — Hopeless Fountain Kingdom
Halsey is my girl. I love every song she’s ever made and she absolutely killed it with this album.
Favorite Track:
5. As It Is — Okay.
As It Is is an amazing band, and their new album seemed to be a lot more emotionally raw compared to their earlier albums. I absolutely loved it, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with in 2018.
Favorite Track:
4. Neck Deep — The Peace and the Panic
Neck Deep probably made everyone’s AOTY lists this year. I’m not ashamed to say I fell in love with this album as soon as I heard the first single.
Favorite Track:
3. Sleep On It — Overexposed
Sleep On It is easily my favorite band this year. They’re on their way to becoming one of the biggest names in this music scene and I am here for it. The title track is my favorite because something about the lyric “Oh, sweet oxygen let me breathe again” really struck a chord with me.
Favorite Track:
2. All Time Low — Last Young Renegade
All Time Low will forever make my AOTY lists. They can do no wrong.
Favorite Track:
1. Sleeping With Sirens — Gossip
Gossip was my #1 album this year for a lot of reasons. SWS changed their sound a lot. Their music isn’t as angry, which was something to get used to, but once I did I realized how much the guys have grown up and it’s been amazing growing up with them. It’s a whole new era of Sleeping With Sirens and I am here for it.
