Young Culture — Blue

Albany, New York’s Young Culture inject a breath of fresh air into the scene with their new EP Blue, set to be released on November 24th, 2017.  The follow up to their first EP which was released in 2016 but recorded in 2014, Blue is laden throughout with poppy guitar hooks and the upbeat vocals of lead singer Alex Magnan.  “This record is a lot more mature” shares Magnan. “We took a lot of time and really thought through the songs from melodies to song structures”.

Young Culture’s music is progressing, and so too is their live show.  Having already shared the stage with the likes of State Champs and Knuckle Puck, the band just concluded a run with Certainty and Locals Only in Canada, followed by some time on the road in the US alongside The Weekend Classic.  Young Culture is seeing growth in their performances, having new fans greet them as they arrive in a city for the first time.  “We played South Carolina and there were people who knew the words, it’s a cool experience” says guitarist Gabe Pietrafesa.  In preparation for the release of Blue, some of the songs that appear on it such as “Pure Gold” and “Bloom” are being incorporated into the band’s sets, and both fans and Young Culture themselves are enjoying them.  “We’re getting good reception on the new songs, they feel great to play” says Magnan.

As the future beckons, there are exciting things on the horizon for Young Culture.  Having just connected with Passenger Entertainment, the band is excitedly anticipating 2018.  “It’s going to be a good year” says Pietrafesa.  If Blue is any indication, listeners too can excitedly anticipate good things from Young Culture.
